Rifle Garfield County Airport

For Rifle Garfield County Airport (RGCA), we designed a new logo based on the client’s stated preferences and several criteria. This included incorporating the full name of the airport, differentiating the airport from its primary Colorado competition, and establishing a sibling relationship with the Garfield County logo without compromising communication value with the primary audience.

The logo mark features the mountains and mesas of Garfield County, with a contrail sweeping through the mark, intersecting the “R” in Rifle and adding an illustration of a business jet over the “I” in Rifle. The mark is intended to identify RIF as a mountain airport and support the tagline as “Colorado’s 24/7 Rocky Mountain Airport.” The colors of the logo correspond to the color scheme used in the Garfield County logo to further strengthen the visual connection between the Garfield County and RGCA logos.
